This course provides a comprehensive understanding of the evolution, transformation, and future directions of the Hospitality and Tourism industries. It highlights the interconnectedness between traditional issues—such as overtourism, crisis management, destination recovery, and the sharing economy—and emerging innovations driven by Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, and sustainable practices. Students will explore how these forces collectively shape management, marketing, and service delivery, as well as their ethical and social implications. Key themes include environmental sustainability, digital transformation, AI in guest experience design, and data-driven decision-making. Throughout the course, students will engage with AI-based platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Perplexity AI, Excel Copilot, and Beautiful.ai) to conduct research, analyse data, and present findings through interactive formats. The course emphasizes experiential learning, collaboration, and critical reflection, helping students bridge theory and practice to develop adaptive and future-ready competencies in the global hospitality landscape.
