* Understand Data Mining concepts and techniques, such as information extraction, ranking and search, online advertising, opinion mining, social network analysis, etc. * Aware of the important role of domain experts in data mining. * Be able to choose or design appropriate models to solve Data Mining problems, and be able to proceed with the chosen/designed approach, avoiding common mistakes in conducting data mining projects, and reach the high quality knowledge from data.
