This course is adapted from Digital Transformation in Financial Services Specialization on Coursera and is designed to help students understand how digitalization is reshaping finance. As financial products and services become increasingly digital, and customer expectations, competition, and regulation evolve, Finance professionals must master digital strategies, technologies, and business models beyond traditional skills. Business Digital Transformation for Finance comprises four modules that progress from foundational concepts to strategic planning, combining expert lectures, case studies, interactive activities, and a capstone project. The course equips students with both conceptual knowledge and practical tools to participate in or lead digital transformation efforts in financial institutions or fintech firms. Upon completion, students will be able to: • Analyze how digitalization shifts competition in financial services, including the rise of platforms, ecosystems, and new business models. • Understand technologies, regulations, and innovations shaping banking, payments, lending, and fintech. • Design strategic digital transformation initiatives, including ecosystem strategies, platform models, and fintech collaboration. • Evaluate regulatory, governance, and market challenges in a digitally evolving environment. • Develop and present a digital transformation plan for a real financial services organization. Graduates will receive a Coursera certificate and gain the skills needed for digital strategy roles in banking, fintech, insurance, and related sectors. Additionally, students will be prepared to take the CFA Levels I–II. They will be particularly well-equipped with knowledge in fintech, digital innovation, data-driven finance, and emerging industry structures.
