Listening skill Upon completion of the course, students should be able to: - Identify listening strategies - Listen for main ideas - Listen for gist - Listen for reasons - Understand personal qualities - Understand jobs responsibilities - Understand complaints - Distinguish between facts and opinions - Understand vague descriptions - Distinguish between varieties of English - Follow the academic lectures - Recognise approval and disapproval - Understand ad messages - Understand business data - Understand sequence of events - Understand directions and telephone conversation - Identify purpose, attitute and solutions - Understand interviews and talk shows - Identify arguments for and against an issue - Listen critically to alternative viewpoints - Understand a scientific explanation - Identify a topic of monolog - Focus on pronuciation in each unit

- Attend more than 80% of contact hours in order to be accepted to the final examination - Actively participate in class activities - Fulfil tasks given by intructor after class - Use their own laptop in class only for learning purpose - Access the course websites for up-to-date information and material of the course, for online supports from teachers and other students and for practice and assessment.
