"-Objective: The course is designed to provide students with essential skills and knowledge that enable English major students to conduct their translation and interpretation jobs after graduation. Upon completion of the course, students will obtain knowledge related to job ethics and skills needed to pursue careers as professional translators and/or interpreters. -Description: This course covers theoretical and practical knowledge related to translation and interpretation job. In addition to the ethic codes of the profession, the course guides students how to make necessary preparation for interpreting and/or translating projects related to literature, specialized documents, talk shows, conferences.... in an ethical way, how to deal with problems in translating and interpreting, how to communicate effectively in the profession. Besides, computer-aided and machine translation is also discussed in the course. -Teaching method: Constructive Teaching Method is highly recommended. Beside the lecture, students are required to accomplish some projects and take part in some professional talk shows where job-related stories are shared by experts.
