The world of global finance, banking and financial services is changing rapidly with the emergence of start‐up financialtechnologies, commonly referred to as FinTech, that are not only empowering or disrupting the status quo, but areshaping the future of the financial services industry. Taught as a series of practical courses and guest lectures by industry entrepreneurs and professionals, the course coversthe main pillars of the FinTech start‐up ecosystem in Asia, including peer to peer lending platforms, internet finance,online finance, bitcoin, digital currencies, digital payments, big data, cybersecurity, cryptography, etc. and their practicalimpact on global banking and finance. This course will provide students with the latest empowering and practical knowledge on FinTech enabling them tounderstand some of the FinTech changes taking place currently in the financial services industry and, most importantly,the trends that will impact the industry in the future. This is a very practical course with a heavy emphasis on guest lectures on the latest industry trends and best practices byindustry experts and entrepreneurs rather than theoretical concepts.

- Class attendance is strongly encouraged. Attend more than 80% of class hours in order to be accepted to the final examination - Actively participate in class activities - Fulfill tasks given by instructor after class - Use their own laptop in class only for learning purpose - Read the textbook in advance - Access the course website (http://cms.fpt.edu.vn) for up-to-date information and material of the course, for online supports from teachers and other students and for practicing and assessment.
