I. Implementation Orientation Requirements of the Course: 1) Orientation for Part 1 – Business Japanese and Office Culture - Reinforce knowledge from the language practice module and provide advanced-level Japanese knowledge such as: honorific forms, expressions used in customer interactions, and working in Japanese companies. - Provide basic communication knowledge such as: how to talk with Japanese people, forms of address, ways of refusal, persuasion, and problem-solving through specific situations, sample dialogues, or videos, etc. - Provide basic skills necessary when working in an environment with Japanese partners such as: exchanging business cards, dress code, making/receiving phone calls, receiving instructions/orders, etc. - Provide basic knowledge of how to write letters and conduct email correspondence. - Use examples of trade negotiations or an import/export process from Vietnam to Japan (or vice versa) for sample practice in business negotiation language or transactional language in import/export procedures. - Provide basic knowledge and skills in writing CVs, interviewing, and dress etiquette to prepare students for future job applications. 2) Orientation for Part 2 – Japanese Companies from the Perspective of Vietnamese Culture - Provide students with an understanding of Japanese personality traits in daily life and at the workplace. - Provide students with knowledge about Japanese working styles. - Enable students to discuss Japanese corporate culture from the perspective of Vietnamese culture and compare the two working styles. - Provide real case studies and create opportunities for students to propose solutions for effective interaction with Japanese colleagues in the workplace. II. Course Objectives: 1) Objectives of Part 1 – Business Japanese and Office Culture After completing this part, learners will be able to: - Apply advanced-level Japanese knowledge such as appropriate ways of speaking, forms of address, and use of honorifics. - Acquire basic and essential knowledge for working in environments with Japanese partners such as: exchanging business cards, dress code, making/receiving phone calls, receiving instructions/orders, etc. - Know how to conduct basic email communication. - Understand the import/export process with Japan; be familiar with the contents of trade transactions or procedures in import/export. - Have knowledge of CV writing, interviews, and demonstrate confidence in job interviews. 2) Objectives of Part 2 – Japanese Companies from the Perspective of Vietnamese Culture After completing this part, learners will be able to: - Understand the characteristic personality traits of Japanese people, both in general and in the workplace. - Understand Japanese-style working practices. - Be able to compare Japanese working styles with Vietnamese working styles from the perspective of Vietnamese culture. - Be able to identify situations and propose effective solutions for interacting with Japanese people in the workplace. Study time (150h) Including 45h in class (60 sessions) + 1h final exam + 104h self-study

Nhiệm vụ sinh viên

・Attend at least 80% of in-class hours to be eligible to take the final exam. ・Read the textbook and present your understanding of the assigned content (in Japanese) in groups. ・Practice research by exploring issues related to Japanese culture, country, and people (with possible comparisons to Vietnam). ・Review lectures, cross-check with materials provided by the instructor and lecture slides to master knowledge and vocabulary related to Japanese culture and society. ・Actively participate in class discussions and exchanges on the given topics.
