Computer Networking

This course provide the basics of how data is sent and received in a network and how small computer networks are created, introduce a variety of concepts, practice activities and simulations that help build the learner’s skills and understanding of computer networking. You will learn how to set up a basic home network, configure devices for connectivity, understand how communication takes place on a network, and what minimal best practices should be implemented to secure the network. Learners will also be introduced to Cisco IOS® software used to manage Cisco routers and switches. Assessment scheme: 1. Complete the online course to be allowed to take Final Exam 2. Final Exam is included of Final Theory Exam (TE) & Final Practical Exam (PE): 100% 3. Student gets 0.25 bonus points for each course completed on time. The total bonus point is not greater than 1. 4. Completion Criteria: Final TE Score >=4 & Final PE Score >=4 & ((Final TE Score + Final PE Score)/2 + bonus) >= 5 5. In the case: (5 > Final TE Score >=4) & (5 > Final PE Score >=4) & ((Final TE Score + Final PE Score)/2 + bonus) < 5, the student can choose to take the resit of both TE & PE OR just either TE or PE.
