"This course is designed to further develop the learner's confidence and fluency in using the English language and to enrich their learning experience through interactive lessons and communicative exercises. Upon completion of the course, students should be able to: - Identify main ideas and supporting details; analyze cohesive devices (pronouns, conjunctions, transitional phrases); Create appropriate graphic organizers (mind maps, Venn diagrams, flowcharts) for different text types. - Demonstrate improved reading fluency, recognize and use rhetorical techniques. - Analyze textual references to visuals and interpret information presented in charts, graphs, diagrams, and infographics. - Identify and understand statements of acts and opinions, identify implication and inference, - Identify and evaluate evidence and argumentation; understand multiple perspectives and evaluate sources - Recognize and understand definitions and classifications within a text - Organize and structure ideas effectively at the sentence, paragraph, and essay levels in academic writing. - Deliver clear, well-organized, and impactful oral presentations with appropriate academic register and confidence. - Master (300) academic vocabulary words from the Academic Word List, demonstrating accuracy on vocabulary assessments and correctly using target words in their written assignments and oral presentations. Students are also expect to: - Be cooperative, supportive, and responsible in group work - Take advantages of AI, online applications, language labs, and online platforms in performing learning tasks - Adhere to plagiarism rules in performing learning tasks. - Demonstrate critical thinking
