The general objective of the course is to elucidate the intricate relationships existing between travel, transport and tourism and their functioning. The course focuses on introduction of tourism in general; its links with travel, air transport; airline operation and management; airport functioning; the role played by land and water transportation in tourism; the way the travel industry products are distributed; the value being added during the process of tour operation; functioning and management of tour operation businesses; and the nuances of tour guide. The course also deals with the demand and supply factors, influencing factors, impacts of information technology in travel intermediation and impacts of mass travel and tourism. Lecturing is the main teaching method in the theory part. However, the lecturer is required to provide relevant practical and hands-on experiences by using case studies or sharing personal experiences. The learners are encouraged to actively participate in lectures by active and student-centered teaching methods such as reciprocal questioning, games, rotating chair group discussions, rountable meeting or by self-learning and preparations before the lecture, Practical training sessions are organized to allow the learners to develop their initial skills and behaviors on the tourism and travel occupational/ opereational standards. Furthermore the group assignment project will strengthen leaners' technical and soft skills such as research, team work, leadership, problem solving, work planning and scheduling, presentation and so on.

- Class attendance is mandatory. Attending at least 80% of class hours in order to be accepted to the final examination - Be actively participate in class activities such as Q & A, group works, practical exercises, field works, presentation, etc. - Fulfill tasks given by the instructor, including the group assignment project and practical training sessions - Use their own laptop and smartphone in class only for learning purposes and when requested - Read the textbooks, other reading documents and do homework in advance - Access the course page on the selected education management platforms like Zoom, MS Teams, Google Class or Moodle for up-to-date information and material of the course, for online supports from teachers and other students and for assessment.
